The Goshen High School athletic department is proud to announce that Ms. Barb Carbaugh has been selected as the newest member of the GHS Coach’s Wall of Fame.

 

Barb served as Goshen’s head girls’ golf coach for 9 seasons and has the most career coaching wins in school history.  Teams that Barb coached won 6 NLC, 4 sectional, and 3 regional championships, and advanced to the state finals on 3 occasions.  She was NLC coach of the year 5 times and her teams had a 25 match win streak in the NLC.  In golf, Barb coached 23 all NLC athletes, 1 academic all state athlete, 1 all state athlete, and 4 athletes that pursued golf at the collegiate level.

 

Barb served as Goshen’s head girls’ basketball coach for 16 seasons and has the second most coaching wins in school history, behind Dori Keyser.  Teams that Barb coached won two sectional championships and 5 Goshen Holiday Tournament championships.  She was named NLC coach of the year and Area Coach of the year one time.  In basketball, Barb coached 16 academic all state athletes, 20 1st team all NLC athletes, and 13 athletes that pursued basketball at the collegiate level.

 

In 2004, Barb was honored by the Northern Lakes Conference by being designated as a Lifetime Service Award Honoree.  Her tireless efforts to serve the student-athletes of the Goshen School system are admirable.  She was also named the South Bend area Women of the Year in Sports and Recreation in 1997.
