GHS Announcements for Wednesday, May 12th, 2021
Thank you to everyone who has already picked up their cap and gown. Here are some things to know if you still need to pick up or place an order.

Summer School Registration is open now until May 14th. All summer classes will be offered in-person either at GHS or Merit Learning Center. There will be on APEX and teacher-led courses available, as well as PE. There will be no options to complete classes virtually from home.
Students interested in completing a class this summer should contact their counselor to get more information or follow the steps on the 2021 GHS/Merit Summer School information page to get access to the Summer School Enrollment form.
It is time for the annual GHS Prom Dress Drive. The purpose of this drive is to provide free dresses for students who want to go to the prom but may be in financial need. We have several dresses in various styles and sizes to choose from. If you are in need of a prom dress or if you wish to donate a gently used dress, please contact Mrs. Hershberger in Room 3260 (rrhershberger@staff.goshenschools.org) or Mrs. Shakley in Room 2255 (tshakley@staff.goshenschools.org). You may also email or ask one of your teachers to help you get in contact with one of us.
SPORTS:
Spring sports have started and the fan attendance plan is by venue. At track & field at Foreman Field, tennis, golf, JV baseball at the Little League and V/JV softball at Shanklin, there are no capacity limits but all Covid protocols must be followed to attend, including wearing a face covering at all times. For baseball played at Phend Field, we do have to restrict to 4 fans/rostered player.
The Indiana All-Stars vs Junior All Stars game will be played at Brownsburg High School on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. The doors will open at 5:00 PM with the girls game starting at 6:00 PM. Please enter Door 14. Tickets are $8.00 and can be purchase athttps://indallstar.eventbrite.com/. There will be no tickets sold at the door and only available online in advanced.
The 2021 Indiana vs Kentucky All Star Basketball Game will be played at the Owensboro Sportscenter in Owensboro, Kentucky on Friday, June 11, 2021. The doors will open at TBD with the girls game starting at TBD. Tickets information will be available at a later date.

SPORTS RESULTS:
The RedHawks C-team dug themselves into a big hole on Tuesday night in Mishawaka, allowing 18 runs on 11 hits in the bottom of the first inning. Goshen would keep fighting though and was able to get a run on the board in the 4th and six runs in the 5th, with the final score being a 27-7 defeat at the hands of the Cavemen. Chuy Briano started the game on the mound and was relieved by Isaac Rodriguez and Gage Worthman. The RedHawks had only three base hits. Preston Heeter had a double and Abel Hernandez had two singles. Heeter also stole two bases.
The RedHawks C-team has at least one more game (2nd game of a double-header at Angola on Saturday). The RedHawks JV visits Plymouth on Wednesday with first pitch set for 5:30pm.
The RedHawks Varsity girls tennis team came away from Warsaw with a 4-1 win to finish the season 4th in the Northern Lakes Conference with a 4-3 NLC record. The team record improved to 10-5. Lucy Kramer and Mara Schrock each won their singles match in straight sets while doubles players KT Detweiler, Joya Drenth, Abril Diaz, and Tori Barkey overcame slow starts to also win in 2. On the JV side, Abby Wileman, Mireya Benitez, Naomi Kratzer, Yosalin Zavala Perez, Morgan Priebe, and Teresa Becerra all won their matches. The varsity squad plays at NorthWood tomorrow in the first round of the NLC tournament.
The RedHawks JV boys golf team hosted the Tigers and Pilgrims at Black Squirrel GC.

The RedHawks were led by Jackson Guipe with a 40, Chase Meyer 41, Cam Schneider 45, Jacob Moyer 46 and Zach Subera 47.

The JV RedHawks lost to Warsaw and Plymouth Warsaw 165, Plymouth 203 and Goshen 239
Goshen was led by Harrison Savchuk with a 53.
