Congratulations to Alec Lehr and Rummel Johnson as they were voted to the IFCA 5A All-State Team for Football.  This is the first time Goshen has had two players in the same year make the 1st Team since 2000.  Great job Players!

The Ultimate Frisbee Club will play indoors in Whiteman gym this month.  The first time we will play is this Thursday at 8:30 p.m.  You must have forms turned in to Mr. Lucas Kauffman in order to participate.  You can pick forms up from Mr. Lucas Kauffman, Mr. Snyder in the choir office, Mr. Brubaker in 3050 or Mrs. Stealy in the main office.

There has been a very large signup for the spring break marine biology trip.  Students who want to secure a spot on the trip need to make the down payment as soon as possible or talk to Mr. Weaver about arrangements.  It is very important that you take care of this in the coming week!

Super Mileage Club will meet TOMORROW and December 13th from 3:40-5:00 p.m. in room 8010.

IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week:  There are times when underclassmen view their future athletic success as making the varsity and getting playing time in the 9th or 10th grade.  Are you one of those athletes?  Did your parents put pressure on you or did you put pressure on yourself?  Sometimes (really most of the time) you must wait your turn.  There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.  Take advantage of the freshmen and junior varsity experience to develop your game.  More importantly, don’t become discouraged because it’s how you perform as a junior and senior that really counts.  Don’t pressure yourself early on if you need more time for skill development and maturity.  Sometimes the really good athletes are late bloomers!

Herff Jones will be here on December 15th during lunch in the commons to deliver class rings.  If you have not placed an order for a cap and gown, you can see them during this time as well.

If you are a current sophomore or junior and are interested in travel, there will be an informational meeting for you and your parents about the next Europe Art Trip, 2018 where we will visit both Italy and Spain.  We will meet TODAY at 7:00 p.m. in room 1010 (across from the cafeteria).  Please see Mr. Zuber for details.

Students should take a look at their 2nd semester schedules in Skyward ASAP.  If there is a missing period in your schedule or a class you are no longer taking please fill out the “Schedule Issue” form and return it to guidance.  You can get these form from teachers, your SRT teacher or the guidance office.  PLEASE DO THIS BY FRIDAY.  Guidance will not make student request changes when we return in January, only teacher change requests.  Your schedule must be changed before you leave for Christmas break. We are trying to eliminate starting the 2nd semester with a lot of changes.  We know there will be some changes if you fail a class, or a teacher makes a recommendation for a change in placement.  Don’t wait until the last minute, the class you want may be full!

Any student interested in competing in this year’s National Shakespeare Competition should see Mr. Garvin in room 2220 prior to next week.  Get the information so you have time to practice over break!

Ski Club:  Don’t forget that forms and money are due by Friday, December 16th.  Also, if you are interested in ordering ski club apparel, see Mrs. Clark for an order form.  Apparel orders are also due December 16th.
