We are adding another night of tutoring after school. In addition to Tuesday and Thursday nights, we will now be offering help on Wednesdays. So now students can get tutoring on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights from 3:45-5:00 in the cafeteria. A snack and transportation home (within the district) will be provided.

It is time for the annual GHS Prom Dress Drive. The purpose of this drive is to provide free dresses for students who want to go to the prom but may be in financial need. We have several dresses in various styles and sizes to choose from. If you are in need of a prom dress or if you wish to donate a gently used dress, please contact Mrs. Hershberger in Room 3260 (rrhershberger@staff.goshenschools.org) or Mrs. Shakley in Room 2255 (tshakley@staff.goshenschools.org). You may also email or ask one of your teachers to help you get in contact with one of us.
SPORTS:
Spring sports have started and the fan attendance plan is by venue. At track & field at Foreman Field, tennis, golf, JV baseball at the Little League and V/JV softball at Shanklin, there are no capacity limits but all Covid protocols must be followed to attend, including wearing a face covering at all times. For baseball played at Phend Field, we do have to restrict to 4 fans/rostered player.
SPORTS RESULTS:
The RedHawks JV baseball team played a great game at Northridge on Wednesday evening, but lost 3-0. The game went down to the wire, as Jace Hershberger (the starting pitcher) came up to the plate with 2 outs and the bases loaded in the top of the 7th inning, before making the final out. Hershberger pitched six solid innings for the complete game, allowing only five hits and two earned runs. Goshen has made huge improvements since they last played Northridge (lost 32-0 in five innings on April 22nd). Laish Detwiler led the offense with two doubles. Myles McLaughlin and Fernando Figueroa also had base hits.
The RedHawks return to Northridge on Thursday to play a C game, with first pitch at 5:00. Goshen JV plays next versus Warsaw at Goshen Little League on Friday, beginning at 5:30.
The girls tennis team bounced back to down Mishawaka Wednesday night on the road by winning 11 of the 12 matches. Kathryn Detweiler, Joya Drenth, Lacey Utley, and Morgan Priebe each won their match without dropping a game. Varsity is now 9-4 and the JV improved to 5-4.
The RedHawks offense struggled to produce any runs and only had 1 hit on the evening. Reece Fisher provided that hit, going 1-3 at the plate. THe offense was able to steal 6 bases on the evening. Thomas Castillo stole 4 bags and Reece Fisher and Colin Turner each tacked on 1 of their own.
On the mound, Reece Fisher lost his 1st game on the season. He gave up 5 earned runs and struck out 7 hitters while walking 6.
The RedHawks have an off day on Thursday and are back in NLC action on Friday night against the Warsaw Tigers at 5:30pm at Phend Field.
