Sports News and Results
SPORTS NEWS:
- Any potential softball player not participating in a winter sport should attend the weight room workouts on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:00-5:15. See Coach Kulp for any additional information in room 1215.
- Attention any student interested in wrestling this year. We start our season on Monday after school meet upstairs near in wrestling room. Make sure to have your paperwork and physicals turned in to athletics.
- Attention any student interested in being a Wrestling Manager please report to the Wrestling Room after school on Monday to meet with Coach Pickard.
- Boys’ basketball tryouts begin on Monday, November 8. All 10th-12thgraders will try out after school until 6:30 in the Main Gym. All 9th graders will tryout from 6:30-8:30 in the Main Gym. All necessary paperwork needs to be completed and turned in to the Athletic Office before a student can try out. Please see Jan Schrock or Tyler Miller in Athletics if you have questions about eligibility. See Coach Wohlford in room 1515 for questions about tryouts.
- Any boy interested in joining the Swim & Dive team this year should make sure that all athletic paperwork is completed by the end of the week, practices will begin on Monday, November 8that 4 PM at the Aquatic Center. If all paperwork is completed, there will be the final 2 pre-season practices on Tuesday and Thursday (11/2 and 11/4). If you have any questions, please contact Coach Rupp at lrupp@staff.goshenschools.org.
- The fall sports awards program for fall sideline cheer is tonight, 11/4 at 7 PM in the auditorium. All team members are expected to attend, dress nicely, and bring your family to celebrate your efforts.
- The fall sports awards for Volleyball are Monday, 11/8, the awards program for girls golf is Tuesday, 11/9, and the awards program for football is Thursday, 11/11. The programs begin at 7 PM in the auditorium, except for girls golf, which will be held in the Learning Commons. All team members are expected to attend, dress nicely, and bring your family to celebrate your efforts.
- The parent player meeting for wrestling is at 6:30 PM in the auditorium on 11/9. All student-athletes from the team are required to attend after practice and have a parent join them for the meeting.

Club Meetings
- The Student Faculty Senate meets this Thursday at 7:45 AM in the Learning Commons. All club sponsors are expected to attend and encouraged to bring a student to share recent activities.
- For National French Week, all French students are invited to a Francophone Trivia Contest. It is in room 1535 during the second session of SRT on Thursday, November 4. See Mlle Mack for more details.
- Key Club will meet today,Thursday, Nov. 4th during Session 2 of SRT in the auditorium. Please plan to attend if you are a member of Key Club or if you want to join.
Also, if you are planning to help with the fall fest this weekend at OxBow, remember to check Canvas and to email Ms. Kunkle with questions.
Volunteers are needed Th, Fri. and Sat. nights at OxBow, and you must let Ms. Kunkle know if you plan to help. Be sure to sign yourself out to the auditorium for session 2 today (Th, Nov. 4) if you plan to attend the Key Club meeting
- Bring Change 2 Mind (BC2M) will meet today, Thursday, Nov. 4, 2ndsession of SRT in the classroom of the learning commons. BC2M focuses on bringing awareness of mental health to GHS. General School Info/Job Opportunities
- Students registered to take the SAT on Saturday should plan on arriving at 7:30 a.m. through door 3-I (by the Welcome Center). The test will begin promptly at 8:15! Remember to bring your ticket, ID, pencils and calculator with you in the morning! No cell phones or smart watches are allowed.
- The first College Goal Sunday of the year will be held this Sunday at 2 p.m. locally at Goshen College and IUSB Elkhart. Financial aid professionals will be there to help collegebound students and their families open the door to financial aid by getting free FAFSA filing help! - The Fall GHS Red Cross Blood Drive will take place on Friday, November 12, from 8:00-2:00. You must be at least 16 years old to sign up. 16-year-olds need a parent permission form signed. 17-year-olds and older do not need a permission form signed. Please email or see Mrs. Wohlford to sign up or if you have any questions.
- As part of our celebration of National French Week, the cafeteria will be providing a French style meal option for lunch on Friday, November 5. Enjoy some tasty French inspired food right here at GHS!
- Goshen Public Library offers programs for teens in grades 7-12. All activities are free and no registration is required. Please join us in November for…
Teen Cafe: We are moving back inside! Join us every Thursday from 4-5:30 PM in the Teen Space. Hang out and relax with your friends. Grab a coffee drink, play a game, color, listen to music…just enjoy chilling at the library. Masks are strongly recommended.
Take-and-Make Kits: Pick up a kit to make a sushi pom pom bookmark or keychain. Kits are available at the Circulation desk beginning November 5 until supplies run out. No sign-up required, first come first served.

Music News
- The GHS musical this year is Guys and Dolls! If you have ever thought you might be interested in being on stage, learning to dance and sing, making new friends, and stretching your entertaining skills, this is the show for you! Auditions are December 2nd and 3rd after school. If you have any questions, get in touch with Ms. O’Leary via email (koleary@goshenschools.org) or reach out to people you know who have been in shows in the past. This is a GREAT show for people who have been thinking “Hmmmm, maybe I want to try it out!” We know you’ll love it!
- Congratulations to the members of the Crimson Marching Band for placing 11that semi-state that past weekend! It has been a fantastic season and we are proud of your hard work and dedication!
