SPORTS NEWS:
- Homecoming Week is 10/11 – 10/15 and will culminate Friday night with the home football game against Wawasee. That game will be free for all GHS students who show their ID and is being sponsored by Interra!

SPORTS RESULTS:
- The Goshen Girls’ Soccer team was defeated by Penn 4-0 in the Sectional final Saturday night at Northridge High School. Despite numerous shot attempts by the Kingsmen in the opening half, the RedHawks gave up only 1 goal in that period. Ten minutes into the second half, Goshen had a chance to equalize on a shot by senior Alessandra Lozano Gomez which was deflected by Penn’s goalkeeper, but Goshen failed to find the back of the net. Penn scored their 2nd goal minutes later, and the RedHawks had few scoring attempts after that. Goshen ends their season with a 12-6-1 record overall and an NLC Championship.
- The Goshen boys cross country team raced away with the Sectional Title.
Drew Hogan led the team with 2nd place followed by Cole Johnston3rd, Tommy Claxton 4th, luis Loera 10th, Adrian Mora 19th, Oliver Biek 24th, and Brady Abney 30th.
The boys will compete at Regionals on Saturday at OxBow Park.
- The Goshen girls cross country team advances to Regionals by placing 5th.
Nataly Esqueda paces the goshen Harriers by finishing 8th followed by Micaela Crobin 23rd, Marisol Diaz 29th, Sophia Yordy 35th, Jackie Sixtos 39th, Mara Schrock 42nd, and Carly Yoder 46th.
They will compete at OxBow park on Saturday
- Friday night the Goshen RedHawks took on the Plymouth Rockies at Plymouth High School. The RedHawks came away victorious 28-14.
Leading the RedHawks on offense was Quinn Bechtel. He ran for 186 yards and 4 touchdowns. Brayden Hinkel had 58 yards receiving.
Leading the defense for the RedHawks was Blake Wyman. He had 13 tackles, two being for loss of yards. He also had 2 force fumbles. Drew Elliott had 9 tackles and a fumble recovery. Noah Alford had a fumble recovery as well.
The Goshen RedHawks (3-5, 1-5 in NLC) are back in action next Friday night against the Wawasee Warriors at Goshen High School.
- Saturday morning the Goshen JV RedHawks took on the Plymouth Rockies at Goshen High School. The RedHawks came away victorious 14-6.
Leading the offense was Cole Hinkel. He had the game winning 52 yard touchdown catch. Gabe Janisse had the winning touchdown pass. Connor Steele also contributed a rushing touchdown.
Cole Hinkel led the defense with an interception and multiple tackles. Aaron Anglemeyer and Alan Ledezema also had multiple tackles
Club Meetings
GHS Students!
The 2021-2022 Esports Club will be starting again on October 25th.
We will meet Monday through Wednesdays in Room 1620.
We will be offering League of Legends, Super Smash, Rocket League, and Overwatch.
And open to other suggested games. All experience levels welcome.
For our competitive players we will be joining a new league this year along with the Indiana Esports League to give more playing options!

- IB exam registration forms are due on October 11th. If you haven’t turned yours in yet to Mrs. Dorn in the main office, please do so right away! If you have questions, please ask Mrs. Collins, Mr. Nichols, or your IB teacher.

Music News
Congratulations to the members of the Crimson Marching Band for winning the class 3A championship at the Bands of America Toledo Regional this past Saturday! The group also took home honors for Best Music, Best General Effect and Best Visual in the preliminary competition and advanced to the Finals that were held that evening. In finals competition Goshen placed 4th overall but was the highest placing 3A band.
The Crimson Marching Band will next compete at the ISSMA Regional in Lafayette in 2 weeks.
