Are you interested in science, technology, engineering or math? The Technology Student Association is the club for you! Join us during 2nd session of SRT on Thursday, September 2 in room 1620 to learn how you can compete in fun events at the state and national level.
Seniors, if you were unable to attend the meeting on graduation supplies on Monday, please stop by the main office to pick up a packet of materials. Email Mrs. Clark at jclark@goshenschools.org if you have any questions.
The GHS Frisbee club will start meeting tomorrow, August 31 right after school. We will play every weather permitting Tuesday and Thursday. Required frisbee club forms will be outside of the athletic office, beginning Thursday, August 26. If you have any questions, email Lucas Kauffman at lmkauffman@goshenschools.org.
The After Hours homework help has begun. After school on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:45-4:50 in the Cafeteria. Bussing will be available!
If you stay after school for the after school snacks they MUST be eaten in the cafeteria. They cannot leave the room.
Seniors and juniors who are graduating early: Please complete the following Scholarship Survey before September 6. I will be calling you down with scholarship opportunities that you do not want to miss out from! If you are driving and parking in the school parking lot you need to see the bookkeeper in the main office to purchase a parking permit. In order to get one you will need to bring in proof of insurance, license and registration, and $5.00.
SRT MEETINGS:
All boys interested in going out for baseball this spring should attend the callout meeting on TODAY, August 30 during SRT in the main gym. If you have any questions please email Coach DuBois at jdubois@staff.goshenschools.org or stop by room 1220 to talk with him.
There will be an important meeting for any student planning on wrestling this year TODAY, AUGUST 30 during 2nd session of SRT in the main gym.
If you plan on wrestling, please plan on attending the meeting. If you are unable to attend, please see Coach Pickard.
BOYS BASKETBALL CALL-OUT MEETING: Boys basketball will have a callout meeting for boys not currently in a fall sport, TODAY, August 30th, during second session of SRT in Whiteman Gym.
Key Club will meet Thursday, Sept. 2 during Session 2 of SRT in the school cafeteria. Key Club is dedicated to helping raise funds to support charities and organizations that help people in need. Please join us on Sept. 2 during SRT to discuss a fundraiser for Riley Hospital.
Call Out meeting for any girl interested in playing basketball this year will take place TODAY, August 30th in Whiteman gym during second session of SRT. Potential athletes will receive a Fall practice calendar and tryout information at the meeting. Do you have your physical? If not before you are able to start practices you must have a physical form on file with Athletics. Please see Coach Hill or email shill@goshenschools.org with questions.
SPORTS:
This Friday night the varsity football team hosts Mishawaka in our first NLC game of the year. The team is 2-0 on the season and appreciates the nice crowd last Friday. This Friday, we are very pleased to inform you that the Chief Wade Branson Foundation is paying the admission fee for all current GHS students who present their current school year ID at the gate. Please remember your ID and let’s pack that student section! The theme night will be announced soon. Great job with Hawaiian night last Friday!
On Tuesday, the boys tennis team will host the Warsaw Tigers at the GJHS courts and it will be staff night! Each player has the opportunity to invite a GCS staff member to attend and be recognized. If you are invited, please only accept one invitation. The weather is supposed to be a non-humid 81! Come out and enjoy some tennis and thanks for all your support of our student-athletes.
IN SPORTS ACTION TODAY:
The boys soccer C-team will play against Penn HS at Penn starting at 6:00pm
SPORTS RESULTS:
Tough loss for the RedHawks against state ranked Saint Joseph. The RedHawks JV score was 4-4. Evan Hochstedler and Erich Schramm won their singles match. Myles Mclaughlin and Braxten Sheets won at 1 Doubles. Moses Kratzer and Blaine Miller won their match at 2 Doubles. Moses and Blaine remain undefeated.
Friday night the Goshen RedHawks took on the South Bend Clay Colonials at Goshen High School. The RedHawks came away victorious over the Colonials 61-0.
Leading the offense for the RedHawks was Roman Schrock. He had 71 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. Noah Alford had 3 catches for77 yards and two touchdowns. Deecon Hill and Quinn Bechtel each had a passing touchdown.
Leading the defense was Roman Schrock . He had a 33 yard interception return for a touchdown, a force fumble, a sack on the quarterback, and four tackles with one being for a loss. Alex Parga and Mitch Daniels each forced a fumble. Duncan Green, Rayhan Romo, and Alex Fletter all had fumble recoveries
The GHS RedHawks boys varsity soccer team hosted the Northridge Raiders and ended up in a tie 1-1.

The tie makes the overall record 2-3-1, and the NLC record stands at 1-0-1.
Goshen’s next game is on Thursday, September 2 at Plymouth. The JV plays at 6pm, while the Varsity will play at 7:30pm.
Goshen Varsity Girls lost a home conference game 1-0 to Northridge. Abril Diaz had 5 saves in the goal. The girls record now stands at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the NLC.
The Goshen JV team aslo lost 1-0 to Northridge. The JV overall record is 4-2 and 1-1 in the NLC.
Goshen hosted Homestead, DeKalb, and Fort Wayne Caroll in our first Unified Football event of the year. Goshen’s fans came out in the heat to show their support for the team. The offense and defense were both firing on all cylinders as Goshen got to scrimmage three good teams. Goshen hosts Wawasee September 14 at Foreman field at 6:30 PM
