GHS Announcements for April 22, 2020
GHS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR APRIL 22, 2020
WE MISS YOU!!! If you or someone you know is struggling, needing food, or needing additional help with school work, please let your counselor, SRT teacher, or an admin know so you/they can get the help needed!!!
Dr. Younghans and staff are setting up virtual meetings to check in with you and help answer any questions you might have! Please watch for an e-mail with the information as to when your class meeting is scheduled and join in if you’re able! This is the perfect opportunity to see your teachers, friends, and get important updates LIVE!
Cap and gown pickup is currently scheduled for May 18th from 4pm-7pm. Please continue to check for updates on this as that may change. All things need to be paid in FULL before you can pick them up.
Locker clean-out, book return, and computer return: We are working on scheduling times for student to return to the building and clean out lockers and return items. Please stay tuned for updates!
Work permits can be done at Central Office at this time.
If you are a current junior and interested in politics or government and would like to serve alongside the Goshen City Council, please contact Mr. Weldy via email at jweldy@staff.goshenschools.org about running for the 2020-21 Goshen city youth council position. Feel free to contact Zoe Eichorn with questions, as she is the current representative for GHS.
The GHS Yearbook staff would love you to take the survey below about what you’ve been doing during quarantine. Please answer all the questions so that we can include graphs, charts, and multiple responses. Also, please be checking your email for more requests from the Yearbook staff! Stay safe and have fun! https://forms.gle/bLpxkxvKothr8hLT9
IB Students: While IB hasn’t made an official announcement regarding refunds since the May exams have been canceled, we are not expecting them since you will still be awarded scores and certificates. We will communicate more information as we have it.
Goshen High School! The choir department is currently holding auditions for the 2020-2021 Crimson Choirs. These auditions are open to everyone. Normally auditions would be scheduled during SRT, but since we are living in strange times, we invite you to send a video of yourself singing to mstutzman@staff.goshenschools.org
The singing should be 60-90 seconds and must be accompanied! The accompaniment could be a karaoke track (on youtube) or a live accompaniment (someone playing guitar or piano while you sing).
These videos need to be submitted by May 1 to help us with our planning. We hope to hear you singing soon!
Ms. O’Leary, Mr. Snyder & Mrs. Stutzman
Attention GHS Seniors!
Goshen High School Student Council would like to feature our seniors over the upcoming weeks. Send a photo and plans for after graduation to Mrs. Walters at awalter@goshenschools.org. If you plan on working, let me know where. If you plan on attending college, include your major of study. Joining the military? What branch? Don’t know yet…that’s ok too!! Check for postings on the Goshen Community Schools Facebook page and Twitter feed!
Students, if you are having trouble with your school laptop, you are welcome to email your school computer support at; GHS_TRC@goshenschools.org (Notice there is an underscore after GCS, that is not a blank space.) If you are having trouble with a lesson, please contact your teacher. Contact GHS_TRC@goshenschools.org for things like; it will not power on, the charger is not working, the screen does not work, a computer program will not open (like Chrome or Word), sound or mic not working, things like that.
- PLEASE try to do a full power off, wait at least a minute, then power back on, to see if that fixes the issue. That truly can fix a multitude of issues.
- Please include your full name and email address we can reply to.
- Please describe in detail the issue. Please don’t just say it does not work.
- If there is a pop up message what exactly does it say?
- If you can use the snipping tool to take screen shots of error messages that is very helpful. Just search for the word snip and you should find that.
