On Monday, 9/13, the girls tennis head coach, Mrs. Lara Perry, will hold a meeting in the main gym during 2nd session of SRT for any girl interested in tennis. Please come by to learn mor about playing tennis at GHS>
On Monday, 9/13, Mrs. Rupp from the swim/dive team staff will hold a meeting in Whiteman gym during 2nd session of SRT for anyone interested in the preseason schedule and coming out for the team.. Please come by to learn more about swimming and diving at GHS. If you are interested in both sports, stop by Whiteman gym first and let Coach Rupp know you want the tennis information too. You can move to the main gym halfway through the session.
The GHS Frisbee club is meeting every weather permitting Tuesday and Thursday after school until 5pm. If you are interested in joining, forms are located outside the athletic office. If you have any questions, please email Lucas Kauffman at lmkauffman@goshenschools.org
The Goshen Band Invitational is this Saturday September 11.
We have 21 bands perfoming their 2021 band shows. The National Anthem starts at 3:15pm. The first school perfomance starts at 3:30 with Goshen performing at 9:45 PM.
We hope your able to come out to cheer and support your Crimson Marching Band students, along with other area band students.
Tickets are $7.00/person ages 5yrs and up. Sorry no student or staff ID’s will be honored at this event.
Swim & Dive Pre-Season practices will be on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 4 – 6 PM at the GCS Aquatic Center starting next Tuesday (September 14) and going through October 14. Anyone interested in being on the Swim & Dive team is welcome to come, but must have athletic paperwork completed and on file with the Athletic Department.
Picture retake day will be held the morning of Friday, September 17th! Any student who has not taken a picture yet, or would like to retake their original is welcome to participate. If you are retaking a picture, please bring your original picture packet back with you on that day! Retakes can be ordered online at mylifetouch.com with the Picture Day ID:EVT2HDB9J.
Youth Caucus Club: Our first meeting is on Monday September 13, first session in the Main Gym during SRT. The Goshen High School Youth Caucus is a club that connects students with the City government. Students are presented with an opportunity to impact the future of Goshen and improve the current state of the city for youth. Students are given a platform to voice their thoughts and gain experience with Youth Advisors in positions across City Gov. and the School Board. It is an amazing opportunity to gain professional experience in the decisions made. We inspire the student body of Goshen High School to be involved and make an impact in the community. We encourage all students to consider joining to represent the diversity of our school and future of Goshen. The Youth Advisors and their positions are: City Council- Adrian Mora, Mayor’s Environmental Advisory Committee- Sophia Yordy, Parks & Recreation Board- Ashley Garcia Coto, Community Relations Commision- Steve Burmudez, Shade Tree Board- Kaite Batson, School Board- Aysia Adkins. Goshen’s Mayor will be attending the meeting.

Service projects, peer education, advocacy, and leadership experiences that fight against deceptive tobacco marketing techniques targeting youth and minority groups.

We will have conditioning opportunities for those not in a fall sport and interested in participating in track and field. The opportunities will be held Tuesday and Thursday form 4-5:30pm. We will meet in the weight room Sept 14,2021. If interested you will need documentation on file in the athletics office. The After Hours homework help has begun. After school on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:45-4:50 in the Cafeteria. Bussing will be available!
If you stay after school for the after school snacks they MUST be eaten in the cafeteria. They cannot leave the room.
If you are driving and parking in the school parking lot you need to see the bookkeeper in the main office to purchase a parking permit. In order to get one you will need to bring in proof of insurance, license and registration, and $5.00.

The Varsity Football team will face Northwood HS at Northwood at 7:00pm
IN SPORTS ACTION THIS WEEKEND:
The girls Varsity golf team will play in the NLC Championship at Bent Oak CC starting at 8am
The JV and Varsity Coed cross country teams will race in the Minutemen Invitational at Ox Bow starting at 9:00am
The JV and Varsity boys soccer teams will compete in the Penn Tournament at Penn HS. JV starts at 9:00am and Varsity starts at 11:00am
The boys JV tennis team will play in the Plymouth Invitational at Plymouth HS starting at 9:00am
The JV football team will play Northwood HS at home starting at 9:30am
The Varsity boys tennis team will play against East Noble HS at East Noble starting at 10:00am
SPORTS RESULTS:
The Goshen Girls Varsity Soccer Team defeated Plymouth 2-1 at Plymouth. Goal scorers were Miriam Ruiz Sanchez and Natalie May. Assists were provided by Alessandra Lozano Gomez and Caylin Martinez. Abril Diaz had 10 saves in the game with a standout performance. The team record is now 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the NLC. The varsity plays at St.Joe on Monday.
The JV defeated Plymouth 9-0. Goals were scored by Naomi Schlegel (2), Brenda Diaz (2), Ashley Urzua, Astrid Reyes, Kimberly Coronado, Mia Diaz, and Dayana Lozano Gomez. Assists provided by Mia Diaz, Kimberly Coronado, Dayana Lozano Gomez, Brenda Diaz, and Ashley Urzua. The teams overall record is 6-3 and 3-2 in the NLC. The team travels to St. Joe on Monday.
The #1 Doubles pair bounced back from losing the first set to win the second in a tiebreaker and then the third 6-2 to complete the 5-0 victory over NorthWood. This improves the team record to 10-3. Pi Wellington did not drop a game at #1 Singles, #2 Doubles players Myles Mclaughlin and Moses Kratzer dropped only 1 game, and #3 Singles player Isaac Stahly lost only 2 in his match. The JV also won in convincing fashion with a 13-1 victory to earn their 8th win of the season.
Goshen Girls Varsity Volleyball lost to Wawasee in 3 sets. 17-25, 12-25, 16-25.
Lauren Kinsey led the Redhawks in kills with 5 followed by Kyra Hill and Abby Wileman each with 4. Maddie Garber had 17 assists for the evening. Sarah Harmelink had 15 digs.
The Goshen Lady Redhawks play Monday the 13th at Elkhart Christian Acadamey.
