Seniors, if you were unable to attend the meeting on graduation supplies on Monday, please stop by the main office to pick up a packet of materials. Email Mrs. Clark at jclark@goshenschools.org if you have any questions.
The After Hours homework help begins THIS week: After school on Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:45-4:50 in the Cafeteria. Bussing will be available!
If you stay after school for the after school snacks they MUST be eaten in the cafeteria. They cannot leave the room.
Seniors and juniors who are graduating early: Please complete the following Scholarship Survey before September 6. I will be calling you down with scholarship opportunities that you do not want to miss out from! If you have any questions or concerns please email me at lembriz@goshenschools.org or visit me in the student services office!
-Ms. Embriz
If you are driving and parking in the school parking lot you need to see the bookkeeper in the main office to purchase a parking permit. In order to get one you will need to bring in proof of insurance, license and registration, and $5.00.
SRT MEETINGS:
There will be an important meeting for any student planning on wrestling this year on Monday AUGUST 30 during 2nd session of SRT in the main gym.
If you plan on wrestling, please plan on attending the meeting. If you are unable to attend, please see Coach Pickard.
BOYS BASKETBALL CALL-OUT MEETING: Boys basketball will have a callout meeting for boys not currently in a fall sport, on Monday, August 30th, during second session of SRT in Whiteman Gym.
Key Club will meet Thursday, Sept. 2 during Session 2 of SRT in the school cafeteria. Key Club is dedicated to helping raise funds to support charities and organizations that help people in need. Please join us on Sept. 2 during SRT to discuss a fundraiser for Riley Hospital.
Call Out meeting for any girl interested in playing basketball this year will take place on August 30th in Whiteman gym during second session of SRT. Potential athletes will receive a Fall practice calendar and tryout information at the meeting. Do you have your physical? If not before you are able to start practices you must have a physical form on file with Athletics. Please see Coach Hill or email shill@goshenschools.org with questions.
We will have seniors and juniors in the MAIN GYM first this Thursday, August 26 for the Drug Education meeting. They are to report to SRT for attendance. I would like senior SRT’s to come down right away and sit on the north bleachers on the floor and balcony. Juniors, if you wait until the 10 minute check for announcements and then come down, that will help with crowding. You should sit in the south floor and balcony bleachers. Freshmen and Sophomores will come down second session of SRT.
Sophomore and freshmen will come down to the gym right away with frosh sitting on the north side and sophomores sitting on the south with their SRT.
SPORTS:
There are two free admission nights this week for home athletic events. The boys soccer team hosts Westview on Tuesday starting at 5 PM and you can enter free by showing your school ID! This is sponsored by the GHS Athletic Council and athletic department. The home football game this Friday against SB Clay is free for GHS students also, with the Gridiron Club sponsoring this. This game starts at 7 PM. Come and cheer on your friends and classmates while having a lot of fun!
Students, the best deal for admission to GHS athletic contests is the $40 GHS student athletic pass. If you attend all 5 home football games, that will cost you $30 and each other event costs $5/event. If you plan to attend 8-10 events this year, it will save you money. You can purchase a sticker to go on your ID for $40 cash with the bookkeeper and you just show your ID for admission. We are also offering a digital route and you would purchase your school your pass by going to goshenathletics.com and clicking on the Ticket Spicket icon. You would pay for that online and your ticket would always be accessible via your smartphone. There is a $2 service fee on that so it would cost you $42 instead of the $40 if you want to use your ID card instead.
