Pandemic-EBT Cards Sent to GCS students on Free/Reduced Status
All families who had students on free or reduced lunch status during the 2019-20 school year have received (or will receive) in the mail a P-EBT Card. (All students at Chamberlain, Chandler, Waterford and West Goshen will receive cards, since those schools are Provisional schools where all students qualify, regardless of whether or not they apply for free and reduced lunch.) DO NOT THROW THIS CARD AWAY. The card is for children who receive free or reduced meals in schools and has been sent in the students’ names to provide extra food benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic. Most cards will have approximately $319 per child on the card. You may use the card at participating SNAP authorized retailers nationwide.
If this is your first P-EBT card:
- You must activate the card and select a Personal Identification Number (PIN) before you can use your card. To activate the card: Call 1-877-768-5098. You will need the EBT card number on the front of the card, your zip code, and the date of birth of the child name on the card. You will need to enter 0000 when prompted for the last 4 digits of the Social Security Number. You will then set a four-digit PIN number.
- To select your PIN, call Customer Service at the phone number on the back of the card.
- If you lost your card or it becomes damaged, call Customer Service.
- You will need your PIN when you use the EBT card to make food purchases.
Once activated, the card can be used to purchase eligible food items anywhere SNAP/EBT cards are accepted. While the card is in the name of the oldest child in the home, the child does not need to be present when using the card. You will need to use the PIN number you created when activating the card. The card can be used in the point of sale device, just like a debit card or can be handed to the cashier. Keep the receipt, so that you will know the new balance of your card.
Customer Service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer your questions. Just call 1-877-768-5098. This card does not come from Goshen Schools, so if you have questions, please call the customer service number listed.
