ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Any GHS student that needs a winter jacket can stop by the administration building.
The Black and White Winter Dance will be on January 28th from 9:30-11:30 p.m. after the boys basketball game in Whiteman Gym. Tickets will be sold during lunch for $7 or at the door for $8. The dance is semi-formal, so please plan on dressing up. If you are planning on bringing a student from another school you must get paperwork from Mrs. Wolfe in the main office and that needs to be turned in by Wednesday, January 25th.
Any student participating in this year’s Shakespeare Competition should be ready to go at 3:45 p.m. in room 2220 on Wednesday. Have your monologue memorized and ready to present. See Mr. Garvin for questions or concerns.
Please remember to check the lost and found located in the Welcome Center if you are missing items. Unclaimed items will be taken to Goodwill at the end of the week.
The North Central Co-Op Scholarship and the Elnora Harman Stickley Music Scholarship are now available. Please stop in the guidance office for more information.
Super Mileage Club will meet from 7:00-8:15 a.m. and 3:45-5:00 p.m. on January 10th, 17th and 24th.

The athletic department will host the Sophomore Be the Best workshop TOMORROW during 2nd period and the 1st session of SRT in the auditorium. This program focuses on Bullying and Hazing Prevention, Sportsmanship and Integrity. All sophomores participating on an athletic team during the 16-17 school year are welcome and encouraged to attend. You must sign up in the athletic office. Go Big Red!
The winter Freshmen Be the Best program on Guidelines to Live By will be held in the cafeteria TOMORROW immediately after school. All winter freshmen student-athletes in their first sport at GHS this winter are required to attend. Come straight to the cafeteria after school and you will change for practice after the program is completed.
Football off-season workouts will start TODAY. If you are planning on playing football in the fall and are not in a winter sport, you are expected to be there. We will be done before 5:00 p.m. Now is the time when you make your biggest gains. Brick by Brick!

MEETINGS DURING SRT:
Girls AND boys track & field will both have callout meetings TOMORROW during the 2nd session of SRT. Girls track will meet in Whiteman Gym and boys track will meet in the Main Gym. All athletes planning to do girls or boys track should plan to attend. If you cannot make it, you must contact Coach Smeltzer (for girls) or Coach Clark (for boys) to make other arrangements to get the information.
There will be a meeting for any volleyball player from this past year (freshman through seniors) TOMORROW during the 2nd session of SRT in the auditorium. It will be a short meeting and once it is finished you can return to your class.

SPORTS SCORES:
The boys varsity basketball team defeated Concord 45-40. Mitchell Walters led the RedHawks in scoring with 19, followed by Michael Pinarski with seven and CJ Detweiler and Eliot Nafziger with six apiece. Walters and Detweiler each had six rebounds as well.
The boys JV basketball team defeated Concord at home 45-27. The team was led in scoring by Philip Wertz with ten, Dominick Swinney and Joseph Good with eight each, Brockton Yoder and Ben Bontrager Singer with six each and Porter Revoir with five. Revoir and Wertz led in rebounding with seven and six apiece.
The boys wrestling team defeated Triton 59-15, New Prairie 51-18, West Central 58-16, Mishawaka Marian 84-0 and Fairhaven 46-26.
The Lady RedHawks picked up a conference win at McCuen gym topping Concord 28-23. The team was led by senior Ashton Ellis with eleven points and seven rebounds and junior Jill Kissinger added six points, three rebounds and three assists.
The boys varsity basketball team lost on the road to LaPorte, 57-40. The RedHawks were led in scoring by Mitchell Walters with 14 points and Bryan Robinson with seven.
The boys JV basketball team lost to LaPorte on the road, 38-33. The team had a balanced scoring effort with Porter Revoir leading the way with nine, Philip Wertz with eight, Brockton Yoder with seven and Dominick Swinney with five. Revoir and Wertz both contributed five rebounds as well.
The boys swim and dive team won both of the dual meets with #39 Wawasee and #30 Elkhart Central! The girls C basketball team lost to Leo 21-12 during the first game of the Wawasee tournament. They finished the tourney with a win against Concord, 20-14.
The freshman boys basketball team lost to South Bend Adams, 40-12 and to Fairfield, 40-28.
