ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Picture retakes are on September 8th.
Today, Miss Rice, Mr. Lewis Caskey and Ms. Swartzendruber’s 5th period classes will take A lunch.
Boys Basketball will have open gym tomorrow after school in the main gym. Boys not in a fall sport who have turned in their physical and participation forms to the athletic office are eligible to participate. A complete fall workout schedule will be distributed at open gym. See Coach Wohlford with any questions.
The class with the most students dressed according to the football theme on Friday during 7th period will earn free food (pizza or doughnuts) from Student Council!
Super Mileage Club will have a call out meeting on Tuesday, August 23rd at 3:40 p.m. in room 8010. All interested students need to attend this meeting.
Are you interested in a career in Law? Have you ever wondered how our court system works? Bashor is looking for teens to serve on Teen Court. Youth volunteers may serve as a Bailiff, Clerk, Defense or Prosecuting Attorney. Teen Court meets on Tuesday evenings and dinner is provided. See the guidance office or contact Bashor at www.Bashor.org for more information.
There will be a call out meeting for the swim/dive team tomorrow after school at 3:40 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Students, if you are driving to school you must get a parking tag. Officer Johnson will start checking vehicles next week. Bring your license, current registration, current insurance and $5 to Mrs. Haney, the bookkeeper. Again, you must get a new parking tag every year!
REMINDER: You can buy the 2016-2017 yearbook online at www.herffjones.com for $45, but the price will increase September 5th. Get yours today!
Pre-sale tickets will be available for the Goshen varsity football game vs. Fairfield, scheduled for Friday, August 19th. Tickets will be available for purchase at both GHS and Fairfield High School through tomorrow. To purchase these tickets at GHS, please enter through Door C near the scrolling message center in the circle drive. The price of the tickets is $6 and Athletic Department hours for ticket sales are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Game day tickets will still be available for $6 at the ticket gates. There will be three ticket gates available on that night at the following locations: on the visiting side at 12th/Reynolds, the main ticket gate south off of Purl St., and another off the alley just east of GHS and behind the home bleachers. Lawn chairs are prohibited.

GHS bowling practice for men and women will begin TODAY at 4:30 p.m. at Maple City Bowl. Practice will continue to be on Wednesdays each week. All are invited to try out. Please contact Maple City Bowl if you are interested in bowling but unable to attend.
Herff Jones will be here during lunch on August 31st and after school that day until 7:00 p.m. to take class ring and senior orders in the commons area.

The Ultimate Frisbee Club meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5:00 p.m. on the administration field. If you’re interested in learning how to play the sport of Ultimate Frisbee, you can pick up your required paperwork from Mr. Snyder in the choir office, Mr. Brubaker, Lucas Kauffman, or Mrs. Stealy in the main office. The paperwork should be turned in to Lucas Kauffman the first time you attend.
MEETINGS DURING SRT:
Seniors: You will meet in the auditorium tomorrow during SRT for a drug education session and information about graduation. You will report to your SRT first for attendance.
Juniors: You will meet in the auditorium on Tuesday, August 23rd during the 1st session of SRT for a drug education session. You will report to your SRT first for attendance.
Sophomores: You will meet in the auditorium on Tuesday, August 23rd during the 2nd session of SRT for a drug education session. You will report to your SRT first for attendance.
There will be a Key Club call out meeting on Tuesday, August 23rd during the 2nd session of SRT in the cafeteria. If you are thinking about joining Key Club or would like to know more, plan to attend. Students cannot be “signed out” for club or team meetings during SRT, so you will need to report to the meeting when the bell rings and attendance will be taken there.
The German Club will meet on Tuesday, August 30th during the 2nd session of SRT in Whiteman.
The first regular Key Club meeting will be on Thursday, September 1st in the cafeteria during the 2nd session of SRT. This meeting is for current and new Key Club members.
SPORTS SCORES:
The boys tennis team started the season strong by sweeping each varsity court in straight sets. Simon Myers debuted at 1 Singles with a double-bagel win. Nathanael Wertz accomplished the same feat at 3 Singles.
The girls JV volleyball team lost to Bremen 2-4.
The girls varsity volleyball team defeated Bremen 3-1.
