ANNOUNCEMENTS:
WORK PERMITS: When you get a work permit EVERY box needs to be filled out on the Intent to Employ form before we will issue you the work permit. Please bring completed forms to the main office in the morning and they will be completed by the end of the school day.
REMINDER: Marching Band will have rehearsal TODAY from 6-9:00 p.m.
Student Faculty Senate will meet this Thursday at 7:45 a.m. in the media center. This group is responsible for approving new clubs and fundraisers, as well as keeping track of club activities. All club sponsors should plan on attending this monthly meeting and should bring student representatives at least once per semester. If you have any agenda items for the first meeting, please notify Mr. Kissinger.
All actors and crew will be called to rehearsal next Monday, September 11th in the auditorium. The costume crew meets TODAY with Mrs. Morgan during rehearsal.
HELP WANTED – Universal Tamal is currently looking to hire a waitress/waiter. You must be 17 years old, speak both English and Spanish and be able to work a maximum of 20 hours per week. For more information please call 534-3736 or stop by in person at 225 S. Main St. in Goshen.
Homework help is available every Thursday in the media center from 3:45-5:00 p.m. A bus will be available around 5:10 p.m. if you need a ride home. It will pick you up at the south end of circle drive by the flag pole. This is a great opportunity if you just need a little extra time or even just a quiet place to do your homework at the end of the day.

Picture retakes will be on FRIDAY! Picture retake forms are available in the Main Office from Mrs. Wolfe if you did not have your picture taken the first day of school. If you did have your pictures taken and you want retakes, you need to bring your other pictures back in to the photographer. Even if you are NOT ordering pictures, if you missed picture day on the first day you MUST get your picture taken!
Just a reminder that if you are coming to see Ms. Tovar we have a new procedure. You need to check in with the staff in the main office and fill out a request to see her. She will send a white pass for you as she has time. Please do not cut through the nurse’s office to get to her. You need to enter through the main office.
Maple City Bowl will host tryouts for the RedHawk girls and boys bowling teams TODAY from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Any questions may be directed to girls coach Terry Kercher at 534-7790.
The Teen Health Club meeting is postponed until Thursday, September 21st in The Guidance Office conference room. Wendy Cornell is out on maternity leave and we need a few weeks to get things in place. If you are interested in a health career or healthy life choices, please plan to attend next month and invite others to join us.

The GHS cafeteria is offering free after school snacks every day after school. This program is for any student who is staying after school. All student-athletes, club members, music participants, drama participants, after school homework help kids, etc. are strongly encouraged to stop by the cafeteria after school and take advantage of this generous opportunity. Students just need to show their ID and they can grab a healthy snack to go that will hold them over during their after school activities until dinner. The cafeteria will stay open until 3:55 p.m. to hand out the snacks.

The Ultimate Frisbee Club will meet every weather permitting Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45-5:00 p.m. on the administration field across from door M. You can pick up required papers from Lucas Kauffman, Mr. Snyder in the choir office or Mrs. Stealy in the main office. All required papers need to be turned in to Lucas Kauffman by the first time you play.
MEETINGS DURING SRT:
The first Debate Club meeting will be during 2nd session of SRT on Thursday in room 2350.
Key Club will have its first meeting of the year on Thursday in the cafeteria during the 2nd session of SRT. Membership applications for new and renewing members will be available at the meeting. Any freshman, sophomore, junior or senior who would like to know more about joining Key Club is also invited to attend. Email Mrs. Dillman or Mrs. Dubash if you have any questions.
French Club will hold the first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 26th during the 2nd session of SRT in room 2430. The club is still looking for a freshman representative, junior representative and a secretary. If you are interested in any of those positions please contact Miss Mack before Friday, September 8th.
SPORTS SCORES:
The boys freshman football team lost to Elkhart Central 26-20. Leading the way for the RedHawks was Drew Worthman with two rushing touchdowns and 100 yards rushing. Colin Turner had one passing touchdown. Andrew Pletcher had one receiving touchdown. Isaac Swatzsky and Drew Worthman led the defense with multiple tackles.
The boys tennis team downed sectional rival Fairfield by a score of 3-2. Drake Crowder and Tony Le got things started with a 6-4, 6-1 win and Ryan Harmelink overcame a 2nd set deficit to win 6-4, 7-5. Simon Myers pulled out a 6-0 third set to seal the deal. Carlos Lichty remains undefeated at 2 Singles JV, while Braxton Kincaid, Wyatt Fisher, Austin Cain, Anton Pham and Cormac Koop Liechty also won their matches.
Boys varsity tennis bounced back from their first loss of the season to overcome Northridge 3-2 after a slow start. Drake Crowder and Tony Le were the only ones to have things go smoothly their way, while Simon Myers and Ryan Harmelink both recovered from losing the first set to win 6-1 in their respective third sets.
The boys varsity football team beat Elkhart Memorial 24-8.
The boys varsity soccer team lost to the Penn Kingsmen 0-3.
The boys JV soccer team beat Penn 3-1. Goshen goal scorers: Eduardo Rodriguez (3). Goshen assists: Chris Losano and Ricardo Garcia.
The boys cross country team competed at the Harrison invite where they finished 11th. Felix Perez Diener paced the RedHawks placing 22nd, followed by Jason Barahona 33rd, Angel Arreola 48th, Jonathon Snyder 72nd, Bryan Olvera 107th and Jocsan Barahona 109th. In the JV race Sam Miller was 27th, Shawn Gulec 37th, Griffin Hetler 41st and Chris Sanchez 47th.
The girls soccer team had a dominating performance on Saturday defeating Wawasee 7-0. Jill Kissinger had a hat trick to lead the Goshen offense. Joselyn Guevara, Hannah Kurtz and Hailey Mast also scored for the RedHawks. Kim Ho, Jill Kissinger and Hannah Kurtz assisted on the goals. The girls are now 4-2-1 on the season.
IN SPORTS ACTION TODAY:
The boys JV and varsity tennis teams will host Wawasee at 4:30 p.m.
The boys JV and varsity soccer teams will host Concord. JV plays at 5:00 p.m., followed by varsity at 6:45 p.m.
The girls JV and varsity golf teams will travel to Maxwelton to play West Noble at 5:00 p.m.
The girls freshman, JV and varsity volleyball teams will host Elkhart Memorial. Freshman and JV play at 5:30 p.m., followed by varsity at 7:00 p.m.
The boys and girls JV and varsity cross country teams will host Warsaw at 6:00 p.m. at Shanklin Park.
