IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week: “Your next opponent doesn’t care about last week’s victory,” was a quote I read recently that makes so much sense. It is so true. In athletics, yesterday doesn’t matter near as much as tomorrow does. Are you able to move on after a sweet win? What about a tough loss? Does it hang with you or are you able to brush it off after a couple of days? It has been said that the best athletes have short term memory. They don’t dwell on wins or losses or personal performance. Instead, they concentrate on improvement and trying to get better every day. There is no doubt that a well-earned victory can be satisfying and self-serving, but in most cases it is forgotten about shortly. Successful players and coaches are always looking to the future and use the past as a gauge on how to make that successful!
A vote will be taken for the Goshen City Council Youth Advisor position on Tuesday, May 23rd. If you are interested you MUST be a senior during the 2017-18 school year and you will be expected to attend at least one city council meeting per month (1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month starting at 7:00 p.m.). The candidate will be elected by the GHS student body and will be non-partisan (no political party affiliation). The voter registration office will be here to set up voting machines that will be used for the election. Please see Mr. Weldy in room 2360 for information packets, questions and to find out when information is due. PACKETS MUST BE PICKED UP THIS WEEK!
