Anyone interested in being a Gman for the cheer team needs to plan to come to practice on Monday, November 13th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the warehouse.  Athletic paperwork (physicals, concussion and cardiac arrest) needs to be turned into the athletic office.  If you are unable to make it Monday, please contact Coach Kristy via email at kristy.sloan@goshenschools.org.

FAFSA, scholarships and loans, OH MY!  Join us Tuesday, November 28th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for information regarding college financial aid.  Experts will be here to give you hands-on help on your FAFSA.  There will also be reps from Goshen College talking about scholarships, loans and paying for college.  English and Spanish presentations will be available.  Bring the family and prepare for the future!

Dell has informed us that the freshmen laptop keyboards are on backorder and they changed the expected delivery date of 11/12/17.  You are receiving this information so that you are aware and know that it may take time to get most freshman laptops repairs completed.  This year’s freshman laptops (Dell 3380) are experiencing a high percentage rate of keyboard failures.  Thank you for your patience.

The Miles for Music fundraiser is TOMORROW.  You can run a 5k or walk a 3k and then enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes for $20 or just enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes for $6.  See a music teacher or music student for information.

GHS presents the play All Because of Agatha on November 17th and 18th at 7:30 p.m. and November 19th at 2:00 p.m.  This is a family play for all ages.  Tickets are $6 for adults 18 and older and $5 for students and adults 65 and older.  There is a $20 family discount available.  We hope you can join us!

Anyone interested in playing futsal soccer this winter can contact EL Collaborator Mr. Graber.  The Goshen Futsal League offers leagues for kids, high school students and adults.  Games are played at the Eastlake Athletic Club right here in Goshen on 16th Street.  The first session will be from November 6th through December 23rd.  Come show off your skills as the Goshen Futsal League provides a very competitive league. You might even play against your own peers. Waiver forms can be picked up in room 2330 or at the Easktlake Athletic Club front desk.  Contact James Graber for more information about the league.

WORK PERMITS:  When you get a work permit EVERY box needs to be filled out on the Intent to Employ form before we will issue you the work permit.  Please bring completed forms to the main office in the morning and they will be completed by the end of the school day.

Online yearbook sales are set up!  All you have to do is go to www.yearbookordercenter.com and enter our school code (14723) to order your yearbook or yearbook ad.

Homework help is available every Tuesday and Thursday in the media center from 3:45-5:00 p.m.  A bus will be available around 5:10 p.m. (5:20 p.m. on Tuesdays) if you need a ride home.  It will pick you up at the south end of circle drive by the flag pole.  This is a great opportunity if you just need a little extra time or even just a quiet place to do your homework at the end of the day.

Just a reminder that if you are coming to see Ms. Tovar we have a new procedure.  You need to check in with the staff in the main office and fill out a request to see her.  She will send a white pass for you as she has time.  Please do not cut through the nurse’s office to get to her.  You need to enter through the main office.

The GHS cafeteria is offering free after school snacks every day after school.  This program is for any student who is staying after school.  All student-athletes, club members, music participants, drama participants, after school homework help kids, etc. are strongly encouraged to stop by the cafeteria after school and take advantage of this generous opportunity.  Students just need to show their ID and they can grab a healthy snack to go that will hold them over during their after school activities until dinner.  The cafeteria will stay open until 3:55 p.m. to hand out the snacks.

The Ultimate Frisbee Club will meet every weather permitting Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45-5:00 p.m. on the administration field across from door M.  You can pick up required papers from Lucas Kauffman, Mr. Snyder in the choir office or Mrs. Stealy in the main office.  All required papers need to be turned in to Lucas Kauffman by the first time you play.

 

MEETINGS DURING SRT:

If you are a girl interested in track & field this year we will have a pre-season call-out meeting on Tuesday, November 14th during the 2nd session of SRT in Whiteman Gym.  If you plan on participating this season or maybe you are considering trying something new then please attend this meeting.  Please make sure to bring your laptop to the meeting as well.  If you are unable to attend please see Coach Willis ASAP.

The boys golf team will have a call-out meeting on Tuesday, November 14th during the 2nd session of SRT on the upper deck of the main gym.  If you enjoy playing golf and are not involved in any sport in the spring, please join us to find out more information.  Golf is challenging, fun and a great game!  Boys golf is open to anyone, freshman through seniors, no matter what your skill level is or whether you’ve played on the team before or not.

There will be a call out meeting for girls softball on Tuesday, November 28th during the 2nd session of SRT in the main gym.

The girls basketball C team will play at Bethany at 6:00 p.m.

On Saturday:

The girls basketball C team will host Valparaiso at 4:30 p.m.

Girls basketball will host Fairfield.  JV plays at 6:15 p.m., followed by varsity at 7:45 p.m.
