GCS Community Mourns the Loss of Former Student
It is a sad, difficult day for the Goshen Schools family and community. We learned last night about the tragic passing of former GHS student, Zach Truex, class of 2012. Zach was involved in both athletics and music at GHS and was a great friend to many. His family is still involved and supportive of GCS in so many ways, coaching, taking tickets at athletic events, announcing games and matches; the Truex family is our family.
At this devastating time, we offer Mike, Julie, Taylor, and Matt our deepest condolences. Words cannot begin to express our sorrow and sympathy for your family. May you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you, and may your hearts and souls find peace.
We’re With You
When you miss him,
we’re with you in spirit,
wondering how you feel,
hoping you’re coping,
and getting a little better each day.
We understand. We care.
When you’re grieving,
we’re beside you,
in our hearts, in our thoughts,
we’re sending you sympathy,
encouragement, affection,
and strength to carry on with life.
He would want it that way.

Zach’s many friends and coworkers have been expressing online what made Zach such a great friend to so many: “You were there for everyone”, “I honestly think that you thought it was your personal goal to make every single person you met smile, and you succeeded.”, “You were truly one of a kind and you will be incredibly missed. Thank you for being such a great boss.”, “You were easily the one in the family with the biggest heart”, “You are so incredibly loved.”, “You were by far the best boss I’ve ever had.”, and “The last words you said to me were Love you, buddy, and I can’t stop thinking about it. I’ll miss you forever.”
Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
For as long as there is memory,
They’ll live on in the heart.
The GCS community joins with the Truex family in their sorrow and grief. We also continue to feel love and appreciation for Zach as we remember his life.
Peace.
