GHS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR FRIDAY, JAN. 21

SPORTS NEWS:

• GIRLS TENNIS CALL OUT MEETING. Anyone interested in Girls Tennis – Spring 2022. Join us on Feb. 7th during 2nd Session of SRT in the Whiteman Gym.
• On Monday, Jan. 24 there will a softball call out meeting for all potential players. Please meet in the main gym during 2^nd session of SRT.
• Girl’s Track and Field will have another call out meeting for any who are interested in joining. This will be held on January 24th during the second SRT session. All information needed that pertains to participation on the team will be discussed there. If you know that you cannot make this revised meeting contact Coach Leek at kleek@goshenschool.org. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible! We are also hosting training sessions Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri from 4-6pm. We would like to see as many there as possible. Feel free to join us. We will meet in front of the room for workouts.

IN SPORTS ACTION TODAY:

The JV wrestling team will compete in the New Prairie tourney starting at 7:00 p.m.

The boys basketball JV and varsity teams will host Northwood this evening. The JV plays at 6:15, followed by the varsity. The Northwood varsity team is currently ranked #1 in 3A basketball, so this is a big game!

On Saturday:

The girls freshman basketball team will host the RedHawk Tourney starting at 9:00 a.m.

The Lady RedHawks will be back in action on the road at Northwood High School, with JV set to tip-off at 6:15 and varsity to follow.

SPORTS RESULTS:

Varsity Co-ed wrestling lost a close one to Wawasee last night. Winners on the night were Cole Hinkel, Juan Collazo, Rayhan Romo, Laish Detwiler, Braxton Burns, and Alberto Sanchez. They finish the season with a 3-4 conference record and 17-7 overall.

The Lady RedHawks lost 42-40 to Rochester High School. They battled hard in the contest that was hosted by Grace College in their gorgeous facilities. The RedHawks were led by Tori Eldridge with 15 pts, Kyra Hill 13 pts, Breyana Cline added 8 pts in the loss. The RedHawks fall to 8-12 (2-3 NLC).

The Lady RedHawk C-Team fell to Northwood by a score of 23-21 last night in a tough loss on the road. All the Lady RedHawks scored in the loss, but they were led by Brenna Yoder and Chelsea Schneider with 4 points.

CLUB MEETINGS

French Club will be celebrating La fête des rois on Monday, January 31 during the 2^nd session of SRT in room 1535. We will learn how it is traditionally celebrated, play some games, and have snacks. Sign up using the SRT program or just show up! All French students are welcome. Hope to see you then – À bientôt!

GENERAL SCHOOL INFO.

• The wrestling team will host a Spaghetti Supper fundraiser this evening from 5:00-7:30 p.m. in the GHS cafeteria. Tickets are $8.00/person. Take out/Drive up is also available. Come support the wrestlers, and then stay and support boys basketball!
• Seniors: A scholarship list is available on Canvas and is updated weekly. Please make sure to check out the GHS Counseling Office page and select Moduleson the left-hand side. The list will appear on the very top and has the websites/PDF files linked. If you do not have access, please let Ms. Embriz (lembriz@goshenschools.org) know.
• The School Nutrition Department no longer has a credit card machine. Money may be put on your lunch account online. If a credit card machine is needed, the bookkeeper’s office has one.
• The afterhours program is still going on after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:40-4:50. Bus transportation is available.
