As a graduate of Goshen High School, Mrs. Troup has continued to support all Goshen schools, to serve the greater Goshen community, and has been a true advocate for public education.
Jane was first elected to the Board of School Trustees in 1994. She has served in many capacities on the Goshen board, including 1 year as treasurer, 11 years as secretary, 4 years as vice president, and 4 years as president. Additionally, she has also served on many district committees, including Athletic Council, the Board Policy Committee, the Facility Task Force, and the Legislative Committee.
In addition to her roles with the Goshen school board, Jane also served as the President of the Indiana School Board Association and has faithfully attended Indiana School Board Association and National School Board Association annual conferences, meetings and seminars over the years to stay up-to-date with current educational trends, legislation, data, and research.
Jane was honored this past year at the Indiana School Board Association conference when she was awarded the Outstanding Boardmanship Award. Additionally, she has been awarded the Ernestine M. Racline Community Leadership Award, which is presented by First Source Bank each year to an influential community member.
Goshen Schools has appreciated Jane’s continued willingness to read, research, and learn more about education, to advocate for GCS students and staff members, and to commit herself to twice-monthly school board meetings for so many years!
Please join GCS in thanking Mrs. Troup for her service, by attending the reception in her honor on December 10th.
