Athletic Training
Student Athletic Training is available during every sports season. It is a lot of fun and teaches students about various injuries, taping techniques, first aid procedures, and general Sports Medicine. Students work hands-on with the GHS athletes to assist in treating their injuries.
The season begins at the beginning of the fall sports season, winter season, and spring season.

Trainer Requirements
Students are required to be in good academic standing, have good behavior, be professionally oriented and abide by the Athletic Code of Conduct.
Time commitment depends on whether students want to receive a major or a minor award. To receive a major award, students must work on average a total of five days per week and the assigned event coverage for that season. Students must also be proficient in taping techniques and wound coverage. If provided, students will be required to become First Aid and CPR certified.
To receive a minor award, students must average weekly contact in the training room and work the assigned event coverage for that season. Students must also demonstrate beginning taping skills and wound coverage. If provided, you will be required to become First Aid and CPR certified.
Determination to be a Student Trainer will be based on the above expectations and the number of Student Trainers that will be needed for that athletic season.
