Reminder: After Spring Break cash WILL NOT be accepted in the cafeteria. This includes the al la carte line. If you need to put money on your account, please see Mrs. Haney in the bookkeeper’s office or go to www.myschoolbucks.com.
Wrestling open mats will be TONIGHT at 6:00 p.m.
There will be a job fair for Lippert Components in the conference room at the Quality Inn Hotel on Friday from 12:00-3:00 p.m. If you are interested in a summer factory job or full time employment after graduation this year you should attend.
The girls tennis team will be doing a Give Back Night at Culver’s restaurant in Goshen on April 11th, the first day back after Spring Break. Bring your family and friends for a meal that night to support the girls tennis team, who will be serving your food and cleaning your tables.
All students signing up for Internship class for next year need to have their applications submitted to Mr. Bechtel by TODAY, prior to leaving for spring break. Applications may be turned in after the deadline but applications that meet the deadline will be given preference when assigning internship sites.
Key Club will be collecting personal care items for the Parent Comfort Cart at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis the week of April 11th-15th. Staff and students who are traveling over Spring Break are encouraged to bring their travel-sized soap, shampoo and conditioner to the Guidance Office for donation. Other items being accepted include travel-size deodorant, lotion, shaving cream, toothpaste, mouthwash and contact lens solution. Key Club appreciates your support of Riley Hospital!
Goshen Animal Clinic is currently looking for evening and weekend kennel staff starting as soon as possible through the summer. Hours would be some weekdays from 5:00 p.m. until finished, which could range from 1-4 hours. Weekends would be Saturday and/or Sunday from 7:00 a.m. until finished and/or 5:00 p.m. until finished. Starting pay is $8/hour. Please stop in at 2806 S. Main St. to fill out an application. You must be 16 years of age or older.
If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard there will be a lifeguarding course offered at the GCS Aquatic Center. The cost of the course is $35. There will be an online portion that you will need to complete yourself before coming to the water skills sessions. Water Skills sessions will be held on Tuesday (4/12), Thursday (4/14), Saturday (4/16) and if needed, on Sunday (4/17). The Ultimate Frisbee Club meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5:00 p.m. on the administration field. If you’re interested in learning how to play the sport of Ultimate Frisbee, you can pick up your required paperwork from Lucas Kauffman, Mr. Brubaker, Mr. Snyder in the choir office or from Mrs. Stealy in the main office. The paperwork should be turned in the first time you attend.
United States Senator Dan Coates and Congresswoman Jackie Walorski invite you to attend the Indiana Service Academy Day on Saturday, April 23rd from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Miami County Fairgrounds 4H Community Building in Peru. Physical Night will take place on Monday, April 18th at Goshen Orthopedics & Sports Medicine from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Physicals are available to current 6th graders through 11th graders for only $20 and are by appointment only. For an appointment, go to the GHS Athletic Office and sign up with Mrs. Schrock. You must have the completed/signed paperwork (which can be picked up from Mrs. Schrock) and the $20 to reserve your appointment. The girls track team defeated West Noble by a score of 93-37. The girls tennis team won their season opener by a score of 5-0. Kayleigh Crowder narrowly missed the double bagel win with a score of 6-1, 6-0 at 1 singles. Greta Lapp Klassen got the 3rd point in a 3-0 JV win by pulling out her singles match in a tiebreaker by a score of 8-6.

The RedHawks dropped a heart breaker in the season open relinquishing a three run lead in the 7th with five unearned runs. James Paetkau was the tough luck loser on the mound going 6-1/3 innings, striking out four, walking none and only giving up three earned runs. Paetkau had two hits offensively with Corbin Harrison and CJ Detweiler each having a hit and two RBI’s.
JV softball opened their season against Westview with a 24-3 loss. Maddie Cross and Breanna Boocher each had two hits for the RedHawks as Cross had one RBI and Boocher had two RBI’s.
An early lead helped Goshen defeat Westview 12-1. Kate Atkinson had 10 strike outs while only giving up three hits. Emily Castillo added three hits while Ashton Darnell had two hits.
JV baseball team defeated the Fairfield Falcons 21-0. Tyler Colpitts led the way pitching four innings of one hit ball while going 3-3 with a homerun and six runs batted in. Joey Peebles added two hits and Trenton Scott a double. Porter Revoir pitched a scoreless 5th inning for Goshen.
IN SPORTS ACTION TODAY:
The girls JV and varsity tennis teams will host Jimtown at 4:30 p.m.
The girls varsity softball team will host Jimtown at 5:00 p.m.
