MLC began as a satellite program of Goshen High School. In the fall of 2004, MLC became a county-wide cooperative serving five out of seven Elkhart County school corporations. Each corporation purchases a specific number of student slots and the sending schools can then rotate students in and out of MLC throughout the school year.

Students are recommended for placement at MLC by either a School Administrator or a Guidance Counselor at their sending school. Students must meet the following criteria for enrollment:

  • Student must receive permission to attend from their sending school.
  • Student must be currently enrolled and in good standing with their sending school (not under expulsion or discipline).
  • Student must be in grades 10–12.
  • Special Education students must have a “Change of Placement” case conference.

Students are also required to attend a MLC intake conference with our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Tibbs.
