10-9-17 Board Recognition
Parent Recognition:
The 8th grade football coaches, Brian Thompson and Brock Rose, were recognized by the 8th grade players and their parents. Michelle Kercher, who spoke for the parents, said that the team has had the same coaches for 2 years in a row and that the coaches have set high expectations for the boys, both on the field and in the classroom, and parents are very appreciative of their efforts. The coaches were presented with new footballs, signed by the players they had for both the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
Board Recognition:
Joshua Schrock: Josh, currently a freshman at GHS, earned a perfect score on the math ISTEP test while a student at GMS last year.
Terry Kercher: Mr. Kercher was recognized for his service, dedication, and commitment to Goshen High School athletics.
Shannon Dellinger: Shannon has been the cafeteria manager at GHS for two years. She was recognized for her leadership and excellent management skills, and also for developing an after school snack program for students. Because of the school’s free/reduced lunch percentage, the snack program is free to all students who stay after school for athletic practices, music or theater rehearsals, or extra help with homework. The snack has been very popular with students who otherwise may not have anything to eat until at least 7:00 p.m. The cafeteria staff serves an average of 250 snacks every day.
