Goshen High School Marine Biology Course Day 6

The guys. The girls.

Our exchange students. Eating at Whale Harbor Inn.

At the crack of dawn all of the students got up and ate a light breakfast. We all loaded the bus and took an hour bus ride to John Pennecamp and rode a ferry out to the coral reef. On the way, the second year students did a plankton tow, which collects plankton for later classification. Once at the coral reef everyone jumped out of the boat and headed towards Banana Reef. While some just saw some beautiful fish, others also saw some huge stingrays, big sea turtles, and the very lucky ones saw a shark.

After we came back from snorkeling, we stopped at the Shellman, a souvenir shop. Some spent an obscene amount of money and others just looked. When we got back to the motel, everyone showered and prepared for our evening meal at The Whale Harbor Inn. We loaded the bus and went to stuff ourselves with great seafood. The meal consisted of an enormous buffet and we began the task of eating as much as we possibly could. Tim seemed to be the winner of the eating contest, eating about 6 plates full of food and some dessert, although there was some serious competition from Kevin and Ben. Megan and Robin definitely won the dessert contest by sampling all eight available desserts. (Congratulations) Lots of pictures were taken and it was a wonderful day.
