Goshen High School Marine Biology Course Day 3

Snorkeling in the channels. Mrs. Weaver's group looking at the starfish.

Josie's find in the channels. Morning algae seminar.

Today, April 3, truly began our adventure in the Keys. The morning started off with all the first year students attending a seminar on mollusks, while the second year students studied a mollusk through observation. Throughout the day, algae seminars were conducted and required by all first year students. Today all students made excursions to either the rocky coast, grassy/mud flats, the quarry, and the channels. Those who went to the channels had the opportunity to see a 5-6 foot stingray that occupied the ground directly under the snorkelers. The evening ended with some quality study time and much needed R and R.

2nd year students looking in a bucket. Mrs. J teaches Mike a thing or two.

Holding a LARGE hermit crab. Dan observing the stingray.
