Tuesday, Day 6

Cloudy and a bit breezy this good Tuesday morning in Florida, but the sun is making an effort to burst through. It is almost 9am and time to start this morning's seminar on Algae. There are many different species of algae, and they are often difficult to identify -- this is what you see the students laboring to do on the lab tables in the afternoons and evenings.

2nd-year students are off and running already, left about 8:15 on a field trip to the 'Aquarius' Underwater Research Facility. Hopefully they will bring some pictures back for us. This facility also has a pretty good website if you are interested:

Students need to work hard today to finish up their individual projects and workbooks this afternoon. Tomorrow is a busy day with the field trip to John Pennecamp State Park and a meal out in the evening. That just leaves Thursday and Friday for them to complete their group projects and plan their presentation. Here is what is on their agenda for the day:
