Thursday: Ahhh! Real sleep in a real bed! Things were pretty quiet around here last night -- I think everyone was pretty tired! The van with the boat arrived about 8:30PM and the bus pulled around 10:30PM. The folks who flew in have been arriving,too. From all reports the trip went pretty smoothly and folks arrived happy if a little dazed. Took an hour or more to unload the vehicles, get food put away and get everyone in their rooms for the night.
Friday: Even though the morning dawned bright and clear and breezy, the morning schedule was pushed back an hour to let people recover a bit from the late arrival last night. Students, instructors and adults met with their eating groups (which also function as the study groups) and are getting to know each other. There was an orientation session on the beach, with a drawing to decide the particular habitat each group will be reporting on at the end of the course here.
This afternoon there is equipment to be set up and students will be helping with that, but there is a lot of time for students to relax, get wet, snorkel, kayak, or just lay in a hammock!
We have been working all morning getting getting the connections set up for uploading these pages so we haven't had much time yet to collect pictures. But we are up and running now and will be taking lots of pictures now and posting them up as soon as possible. Check back often for updates!
