The Goshen High School senior Julie Jesse has accepted an appointment to attend the U.S. Navy Academy in Annapolis, MD, where she will continue her academic and diving careers.

Julie recieved three nominations for Appointment: A Presidential Nomination, Congressman Stutzman’s Nomination, and Congressman Coates’ Nomination. Additionally, she was recruited by the U. S. Naval Academy Dive Coach, Mr. Joe Soriano, to dive for the Academy.  The Naval Academy is an NCAA Divison I school competing in the Patriot League that is comprised of: American University, Army, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette College, and Lehigh.

 

Julie was a 4 year letter winner in diving, 3 year letter winner in volleyball and a 2 year letter winner in track and field.  In diving, she was a state qualifier as a junior.  As a senior, she set the school record for diving with a score of 254.55. In volleyball, she earned MVP. In track and field, she earned all conference and sectional championships on a school record setting 4 X 100 relay team.  She also holds the pole vault record for Goshen High School.

 

At GHS, Julie is also a member of Student Council, the Student Athletic Advisory Council, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is a Stay In Bounds Ambassador.

Julie Jesse is the daughter of Jon and Laurie Jesse of Goshen.  She has one younger sibling, Jacob.
