Welcome to the

2017 GHS German Trip

The Goshen High School German Trip is designed to give students the chance to improve their German language skills in Germany, while also learning about the culture of Germany in the context of a German family.  The GHS German Trip was begun in 1992 in cooperation with Goshen’s partner city of Bexbach.  Since 1996 the trip has been based in the city of Bielefeld and is based on a partnership with a German school, the Max-Planck Gymnasium.  For three weeks Goshen students live with a host family from the school and study German language and culture at Tandem Bielefeld, a language institute for foreign students studying German.  GHS students spend the fourth week of the trip visiting Salzburg and Munich in Austria and southern Germany.  The trip includes ten hours of cross-cultural training and preparation at Goshen High School in the spring before departure for Germany.  Students must complete two years of German before participation in the trip.
