ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Girls soccer will have skill development sessions TOMORROW from 4-6:00 p.m.
Juniors and Seniors: The Interra Credit Union RedHawks Branch is offering you a chance to win a prom package. The winner will get two prom tickets (or reimbursement if already purchased), and a $75 gift card to the restaurant of their choice. Stop by the RedHawks Branch to get all the details from Martha and Tricia and to enter! This is available every day the branch is open, through TOMORROW. The winner will be announced Monday, April 29th. We’ll see you at the RedHawks Branch!
Auditions for next year’s choirs will be happening until Friday, May 3rd. If you are interested in more information, please come to the choir office in room 5310 to get more information. Auditions can be scheduled for times before school or during SRT.
Prom tickets are on sale during lunches! They are $40, and will be sold each day (except Mondays) through Friday, May 10th. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. Outside guest forms are available in the main office from Mrs. Wolfe, and MUST be turned in to her by Wednesday, May 8th – DON’T DELAY!
If you are a current junior and have an interest in politics and our community, you should consider running for the Goshen City Council Youth Advisor position. The election is open to any current junior and will be held Thursday, May 16th at GHS. If you have any questions please see Mr. Weldy in 2360 or talk to Felix Perez Diener. All interested candidates should pick-up an information packet from Mr. Weldy in 2360.

SENIORS: Please stop by Guidance and pick up a form to list the scholarships that you have received. Also, please make sure that you fill out a form on what college you would like your final transcript sent to.
Boys football will have skill development sessions from 3:50-5:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the admin field.
All boys not currently in a spring sport that are interested in playing basketball next year should see Coach Wohlford for a schedule of spring workouts. We will be in the weight room on Mondays after school, in the main gym on Wednesdays after school, and in Whiteman gym on Thursday nights from 6-8:00 p.m.
Calling all pianists! Do you enjoy playing current popular music? Are you a strong sight-reader? Do you want to have the opportunity to travel with a group of your friends to somewhere else in the country next year? We need you! The Crimsonaires is looking for a few pianists to accompany the group next year. Please email Ms. O’Leary (koleary@goshenschools.org) or stop by the choir office if you have any interest!
Attention Seniors: If you haven’t ordered your cap and gown yet, you can order online at https://highschool.herffjones.com. If you were not able to pick up your cap and gown on delivery day, you can pick it up during SRT in room 2290 from Mrs. Gardner. If you are not able to pick it up during SRT, please e-mail Mrs. Gardner to find an alternate time at rgardner@goshenschools.org, or Mrs. Jenny Clark at jclark@goshenschools.org.

The Recycle Caps Project is back by student request! Last year GHS collected 400+ pounds of plastic caps/lids that were recycled into a red bench located in commons by auditorium. This year we just need 200 pounds. Many types of plastic caps/lids can be collected. They need to be recycle #2, 4, or 5, and need to be CLEAN. SRTs that collect, sort, and fill a copy paper box (approx. 8 pounds) will have their name entered in a random drawing for cookies to be delivered to their class at the end of the semester. Email Mrs. Swihart at cswihart@staff.goshenschools.org if you have questions, or stop by room 2200.
Important Information for Seniors – Nurse Wendy wants to make sure that you are aware that some immunization requirements have changed and you may need to update your vaccines before going to college. Please email Nurse Wendy if you have any questions or are not sure if yours are up to date. Currently we have just over 300 seniors who will need these shots before going to many colleges, universities, or trade schools.
It is that time of year again for the annual GHS Prom Dress Drive. The purpose of this drive is to provide free dresses for students who want to go to the prom but may be in financial need. We have several dresses in various styles and sizes to choose from. If you are in need of a prom dress or if you wish to donate a gently used dress, please contact Mrs. Hershberger or Mrs. Shakley. You may also ask your SRT teacher to help you get in contact with one of us.
It’s not too late – yearbooks are for sale for $45! They can be purchased online at jostensyearbooks.com or you can bring your payment to Mrs. Long in room 1400 in the Whiteman wing/art area.
REMINDER: Any student driving needs to have a parking tag. You can get this through Mrs. Haney in the Bookkeeper’s office. You need to have a valid license, valid registration, valid proof of insurance (this means that none of these can be expired), and $5. You don’t want to be the proud new owner of a big orange sticker. Officer Powell will be checking vehicles!
Homework help is available every Tuesday and Thursday in the media center from 3:45-5:00 p.m. You must be in the media center by 3:50 p.m. in order to stay for this, and dismissal times are at 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. You are expected to exit the building through door FF, which is located by the stairs just down from the media center. A bus will be available around 5:10 p.m. if you need a ride home. This bus is for students who stay for after-hours help ONLY. It will pick you up at the south end of circle drive by the flag pole. This is a great opportunity if you just need a little extra time or even just a quiet place to do your homework at the end of the day.
You are under no circumstances allowed to lock your bike up to any fence or gate on school property. There has been a problem with students specifically doing this along the fence/gate to the soccer fields. If you continue to do this, your lock will be cut, and your bike will be removed. There are bike racks available, and they should be used. Thank you for your cooperation with this! YOU MUST BE STAYING AFTER SCHOOL FOR SOMETHING TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS – The GHS cafeteria is offering free after school snacks every day after school. This program is for any student who is staying after school. All student-athletes, club members, music participants, drama participants, after school homework help kids, etc. are strongly encouraged to stop by the cafeteria after school and take advantage of this generous opportunity. Students just need to show their ID and they can grab a healthy snack to go that will hold them over during their after school activities until dinner. The cafeteria will stay open until 3:50 p.m. to hand out the snacks. All students picking up the healthy snack after school will need to eat their snack in the cafeteria. We appreciate your cooperation with this adjustment that is mandated by the state of Indiana in order to continue this program.
After school, it is expected that all students exit the building by 3:50 p.m. If you have an after school activity, you should report to the sponsor’s room responsible for that activity by 3:50 p.m. You are not to remain in the hallways or commons after 3:50 p.m. Thank you for your cooperation with this request.
Free/reduced lunch forms are available in the bookkeeper’s office, in the cafeteria and in guidance. Please pick one up if you need it!
WORK PERMITS: When you get a work permit EVERY box needs to be filled out on the Intent to Employ form before we will issue you the work permit. Please bring completed forms to the main office in the morning and they will be completed by the end of the school day.
If you are a student that leaves the building at any time during normal school hours then you must have a sticker on your ID if it’s for a class (PACT, Building Trades, EACC, Merit, shortened schedules, Red Zone, internship, yearbook, etc.) that indicates that or a blue pass from the office indicating that you have permission to leave. Building Trades, EACC and Red Zone students are also required to sign out at the Welcome Center before leaving. You can get this sticker in the main office from Mrs. Wolfe or Mrs. Kuiper.
Just a reminder that if you are coming to see Ms. Tovar you need to check in with the staff in the main office and fill out a request to see her. She will send a white pass for you as she has time. Please do not cut through the nurse’s office to get to her. You need to enter through the main office.

SPORTS SCORES:
Boys JV baseball fell behind early and couldn’t quite catch up to Concord, losing 12-8. Goshen is now 3-8 on the season and has lost eight of their last nine games. Goshen outhit Concord, but walks, errors, and runners left on base allowed the Minutemen to capitalize on the miscues and take the victory. Sebastian Fisher drove in three runs for the RedHawks, while Moises Gutierrez had two base hits, and Noah Meikle collected three base hits. Ezequiel Moreno chipped in a double as well. James Troyer, Moreno, and Jocsan Sanchez each pitched in the game.
Girls varsity softball fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 4-1 loss to Concord. Brynn Shoup-Hill took the loss surrendering four runs on seven hits and striking out two in three innings of work. Ashton Darnell socked a home run in the 2nd inning to narrow the lead. Alexis Navarro, Makayla Snyder, Maddie Swallow, and Klair Sweet each added a hit for the RedHawks. Goshen is now 7-7 overall and 2-3 in the NLC.
Boys varsity baseball won a tight game by a score of 7-6. Jack Immel hit a walk off single in the bottom of the 7th inning with two outs and a full count to lead the RedHawks to the win. Joseph Good pitched four innings for the RedHawks allowing two runs on six hits and walking only two. Kaleb Nine pitched an inning of relief giving up one run and Skylar Reyes pitched two innings, allowing three runs for the RedHawks on the mound. The RedHawks offense was led by Austin Cain who had one hit and two runs and Jack Immel who had the game winning RBI.
Girls JV softball lost a close game to Concord 7-5. Chloe Darnell had two hits for the night while Trinity Nemeth, Morgan Orr, and Reghan Yoder each added one hit apiece. Isabel DeGraff took the loss in the pitching circle. The JV RedHawks are now 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the NLC.
Boys varsity track and field suffered a pair of losses to Concord and Warsaw at Foreman Field on Senior Night. Senior Daveyon Sandford made the most of his Senior Night by winning three individual events and anchoring the victorious 4×400 Relay in a photo finish. The RedHawks produced many personal bests on a near perfect weather day for competition.
