WORK PERMITS: When you get a work permit EVERY box needs to be filled out on the Intent to Employ form before we will issue you the work permit. Please bring completed forms to the main office in the morning and they will be completed by the end of the school day.
Just a reminder that if you are coming to see Ms. Tovar you need to check in with the staff in the main office. Please do not cut through the nurse’s office to get there.
REMINDER: If you ride a bus, please remember that you are to exit the building out of the doors that face circle drive (the old main entrance doors or the athletic lobby doors) and get to your bus ASAP. The buses leave 5 minutes after the dismissal bell rings and they will NOT wait.

Applicants should have a soothing speaking voice to answer phone calls, a good attention to detail, good working knowledge of computers and office software and good customer service skills. Currently the hours needed are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5-8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Pay is commiserate with experience. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Fall play auditions for All Because of Agatha will now be held on Thursday, August 24th in the auditorium at 3:45 p.m.
The American Red Cross is offering Lifeguard Classes on the following dates and times. Classes may end earlier than projected, but will not go over the listed time. You can only miss one class. All candidates must be 15 by August 16th. You can sign up on the Aquatic Center website at aquatics.goshenschools.org under Lifeguarding Class Registration. The cost is $100 if it’s your first time. If you are recertifying the cost is $50. Please call the Aquatic Center for more details at 574-538-3201.

The GHS cafeteria is offering free after school snacks every day after school. This program is for any student who is staying after school. All student-athletes, club members, music participants, drama participants, after school homework help kids, etc. are strongly encouraged to stop by the cafeteria after school and take advantage of this generous opportunity. Students just need to show their ID and they can grab a healthy snack to go that will hold them over during their after school activities until dinner. The cafeteria will stay open until 3:55 p.m. to hand out the snacks.

The boys soccer team is looking for a few managers for the fall soccer season. For more information please e-mail Lucas Kauffman.
The Ultimate Frisbee Club will meet every weather permitting Tuesday and Thursday from 3:45-5:00 p.m. on the administration field across from door M. You can pick up required papers from Lucas Kauffman, Mr. Snyder in the choir office or Mrs. Stealy in the main office. All required papers need to be turned in to Lucas Kauffman by the first time you play.
MEETINGS DURING SRT:
The Goshen Community Schools’ drug testing policy requires that students attend a drug education session on an annual basis. We will use the following schedule to accomplish this requirement during SRT periods.
- 1st session of SRT on 8/15/17: All freshmen. This will be followed by the Herff Jones class ring presentation 2nd session.
- 1st session of SRT on 8/17/17: All seniors. This will be followed by the Herff Jones graduation packet presentation 2nd session.
- 1st session of SRT on 8/22/17: All sophomores.
- 2nd session of SRT on 8/22/17: All juniors.
Students will report to SRT before 1st session each day. Juniors will report to the auditorium directly from wherever they spent 1st session on 8/22. Any awesome cheer ideas? See Mr. Kissinger! Ra ra ree.
Attention, Freshmen! Key Club will have a call out meeting on Tuesday, August 22nd during the 2nd session of SRT. If you would like to learn what Key Club is all about, join us in the cafeteria. Attendance will be taken there.
Attention Softball Players: There will be an informational meeting for all players during the 2nd session of SRT on August 24th in the main gym. Please attend if you are thinking about playing softball in the spring.
The boys JV soccer team defeated La Porte 8-0. Goal scorers for Goshen were Eduardo Rodriguez (4), Emylio Romo, Fernando Quevedo, Isaac Daniels and Ricardo Garcia. Assists for Goshen were Cesar Valdez (2), Chris Losano, Ricardo Garcia, Jose Cedeno and Eduardo Rodriguez.
The boys varsity soccer team defeated La Porte 10-0 in their first game of the season. Goals for Goshen were Lucas Bontreger (5), Junior Argueta (2), Alex Martinez (1), Kevin Cruz (1) and Flavio Cruz (1). Assists for Goshen were: Junior Argueta (1), Manuel Castillo (1), Diego Loera (1), Chris Garcia (2) and Ciro Aguilar (3).
The girls freshman volleyball team lost to Jimtown.
The girls JV volleyball team won over the weekend as they competed against multiple opponents.
The girls varsity volleyball team lost to Jimtown.
IN SPORTS ACTION TODAY:
The girls JV and varsity volleyball teams will play at West Noble. JV starts at 6:00 p.m., followed by varsity at 7:30 p.m. Good luck ladies!
