2nd Annual Band Aid

The Band Boosters will be hosting the 2nd annual Band Aid on Saturday in front of the high school.  They will be serving brats, hot dogs, chips, and drinks from 10:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.  The band and guard will perform at 11:30 a.m.  Come on out and support the marching band as they gear up for another season.

GHS Check-in Dates

Seniors-Tuesday, Aug. 9, Senior Kick-Off at 5:30 p.m. in the GHS cafeteria.

Juniors-Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the GHS commons area.

Sophomores-Thursday, Aug. 11 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the GHS commons area.

Freshmen and new students-GHS will have a Freshmen/New Student Orientation on Tuesday, Aug. 16 from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  All students will have a chance to walk through their class schedules, meet their teachers, and tour the building.

GHS School Supplies

Because each GHS student has his or her own individualized schedule, GHS does not have school supply lists.

Students should bring notebooks, pens, and pencils for the first day of school.  As students go through their schedules on the first day, their teachers will let them know what school supplies they will need.

Summer GHS Information

Free/Reduced applications; The GCS Food Services Director will mail out notification to those families who are directly certified, and will then send reminder letters to those who qualified last year and need to re-apply.
Free and Reduced applications will be available during check-in days if families wish to apply at that time.
Student ID cards; students may pick up their school IDs during check-in times, or they will be passed out in the SRT classes on the first day of school.
Parking Permits; may be purchased on Aug. 9th, 10th and 11th, when IDs/schedules are picked up.  Please remember to bring a driver’s license, the vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and $2.00.
Yearbooks; fees will be paid directly to Jostens.
Cafeteria fees; may be paid during check-in, or in the GHS cafeteria on the first day of school.
Optional Insurance forms; may be picked up in either the main office or the guidance office.
School pictures; will be taken on Tuesday, Aug. 30.  Information packets are included with this mailing.  Students should bring the completed packet, along with payment, to school on picture day.  If students lose the picture packet before picture day, additional ones will be available in the main office.  (Retake day is Sept. 27.)
Bus transportation; If you would like to ride the bus during this school year, you need to contact GCS transportation to register. You may call 533-7176 or e-mail Mrs. Sharkey at ssharkey@goshenschools.org.  Please leave the following information for transportation staff:  The student’s name and address, and the name of the school they will attend.
Textbook rental; first semester book rental will be sent out in the fall when student schedules have been finalized for the semester.
**The first day of school will be Wednesday, August 17th.  The day will start at 8:20 am.  All students should report to their SRT classrooms.
