Boys Tennis
Boys Tennis Home Page
The GHS Boys Tennis team is continually making strides to regain the glory it attained in the nineties. In 2007 the record improved to 7-9 with a heart break loss to Bethany in the Sectionals. However, the team is made up of young men that work hard everyday and are TRUE gentlemen on the court.
Goshen tradition of excelling started in the 90's when we won 7 straight
sectionals and made it to 3 semi-states. We will constantly strive to attain
that winning tradition again by asking every player to learn the fundamentals
and to give it their all on every point.
Player Expectations
Members of the team are expected to show up on time ready to practice rain
or shine. Ready to practice means you will have appropriate shoes (non-marking
soles), tennis racquet, shorts and t- shirts (no cut off sleeves) and water.
Ready to practice also includes a willingness to work hard, give it your best
effort every point, ask questions when unsure, and be positive.
A student athlete can be successful if he is organized and dedicated. Successful
is defined as doing the best that you can and always improving. Organization
will be very important because of the long hours that tennis practice and
matches add to a student's day before they can start on their homework. Dedication
to school and tennis will allow an athlete to excel in both.
